- Absolute content: Shows that the user has the right to add a portlet anywhere on the web page. In that case the absolute content is used to define where the portlets will be placed.
- Content area*: Predefined area where the user places the portlets.
- Text: Icon for a text portlet.
- Image: Icon for an image portlet.
- Table: Icon for a table portlet.
- Other portlets: Icon for the other portlets that you find in the navigator, interactive and other.
- Layout: If you want to place the portlets in rows you can use layouts for this purpose. The portlets that should be affected by this are to be placed in the layout.

- Linked layout: Icon for a linked layout that displays a copy of an already existing layout.
