Content

A web page in SiteVision consists of many different portlets, for example text, table, webmap etc. In Content the portlets for the page selected in the navigator are shown.
Content
It can be a good idea to change the names of the portlets on a web page. In the example above there are two text portlets and with the same name they can be hard to distinguish from each other. By right clicking on a portlet and choosing the alternative Rename you can change the name to a more appropriate name like "Heading" if the portlet is a text portlet used for headings.
OBSERVE! To make the name change, you have to finish by clicking Enter on the keyboard.
The different portlets are represented by different icons:
Content types
TemplateArea
  • Absolute content: Shows that the user has the right to add a portlet anywhere on the web page. In that case the absolute content is used to define where the portlets will be placed.

  • Image: Icon for an image portlet.
  • Table: Icon for a table portlet.

  • Linked layout: Icon for a linked layout that displays a copy of an already existing layout.

** = By default there is one template area: TemplateArea. In this example it is named TemplateArea

OBSERVE! The sequence of how the portlets are placed in the content area is decisive for how the page will be displayed for the user. To change the order of the portlets you can use drag-and-drop (press Shift-key and drag-and-drop the portlets to their new location).
