Search hits


Here you can decide how the search hits should be displayed.

Show search time


If checking this alternative, the total time for the search will be displayed in the bottom right corner.

A tip for increased accessibility! To increase accessibility, avoid unecessary information e.g. how long time the search took.

Show search errors


Here you decide if the search portlet should display error messages and search tips. If typing incorrectly there will be an error message and search tip. Otherwise none will show.
Help message for no search hits
If not typing anything in the search field the following error message will show:

No query string was entered

A tip! It is possible to edit error messages through the template, Use custom template for rendering error messages. It is found on the Advanced tab.

If checking this alternative there will be a text below the search portlet displaying used search phrase and number of hits.

Here you can decide on color for the background of the search hits. This is optional.

Page numbering


Limit the number of hits shown per page


Check this box if you would like to limit the number of hits per page, it will e.g. display 15 hits and then links to pages with the remaining hits.

A tip for increased accessibility! Limit the search result page to e.g. the 50 most relevant hits. Also provide the opportunity to reach the remaining hits from the main search result page. Display legible what page the user is on e.g. with bold text and increased text size.

Here you decide if the page numbering should be displayed, and where to place the numbering.
