Directory services
SiteVision utilizes directory services to verify a user and its rights in the system. One or several directories can be set up on each website or server. The directory must follow the LDAP standard.
When you open the tab the existing directory services will be shown.
You can inherit settings from parent website or server, the directory will then be shown with a icon of an window and an arrow. Click the plus sign in order to add a directory service. A new window will open:
Here you decide if you would like to
- Inherit directory configuration from overlying website or server
- Use internal directory service (ApacheDS) which comes with the product
- Set up a custom directory service
You can also have a custom directory service and utilize the internal directory service. If you try to add an additional directory service without having a license for it, you will get the following warning. Multiple directory services is added functionality and not part of the standard SiteVision product.
Permission right! This portlet/function requires the permission to "Manage directory settings".
