Global web pages

Login page

If surfing to a page which requires login you will automatically be sent to the login page stated here. Remember the login page needs to be public so that everyone can see the page.

You can only have one specific login page for each website.

General error page

If a page is nonexistent you can have the visitor sent to a page with a custom message e.g. "Page is unavailable" and offer some links for the visitor to try instead. The error page is used instead of the common "404 Page Not Found" message.
A tip for accessibility! Create a custom page to display when requested pages are not found in order to increase accessibility. This page should be:
  • Simple design with few features.
  • Clearly distinguished from the general site appearance
  • The page should contain the site's "sender" (at least logotype), a short text explaining that the page can not be found and links to the website's start page, table of contents and search.
  • Contain a page header (h1).

Title settings

Velocity

Decides the appearance for the titles on the pages on the website.
The default velocity template will write:

1. If the page has a title it will be displayed, otherwise the page name (seen in the navigator) will be displayed.

2. There after there will be a - and the title of the website (if the website does not have a title the name of the website will be displayed).

Observe! For websites it is slightly different:

1. The name of the website will be written.

2. There after there will be a hyphen and the title of the website (if there is none the website name will be written)

If you for instance is located on the page Kontakt you will have the following appearance in the browsers top left corner:

Skärmdump på utseende i webbläsaren
A tip! To give the page a title, choose Properties ->General -> Settings.
A tip for accessibility! Give all pages a clear title. The title should contain a description of the current page and the sending organization.

All pages should have information about who is the owner of a website through for instance text, page title, metadata or with a logotype.

Other options

Use page locking

Here you decide if you would like to activate the page lock function to avoid simultaneous editing of a page. A page will lock when a portlet or a property on a page is opened and will be released when clicking save.

Disable HTML in text and table

Here you can decide to prevent the ability of using HTML in the text and table portlet.
A tip for accessibility! Test the quality on the code. If you are writing custom HTML code, ensure the code is still validating, at for instance http://validator.w3.org

Semantic html in text portlet

New functionality, so that the text portlet will create semanticaly correct html code. Will give correct headings and clauses.

M

ove inline styles to CSS file

In SiteVision content is separated from design in the editing mode. On the outside the code is added together. Check this box if you would like the CSS file to be separate.

The CSS files are created each time you visit a page who contains something not already in the CSS file the server has access to. Theoretically the CSS file is not complete until the visitors have visited all pages required to fill in all style attributes located on the website.

The AutoCSS file is a dynamic file which normally is changed during operation. Hence this file can not be used as a reference since it most likely will be different when restarting the service. The classes in this CSS file who begins with c[number] can not be referred to in any html files since these classes can contain anything the next time the service is restarted.

A tip for accessibility! Tables should not be used for layout.

A

utostart spell checker

If the spell checker should be activated when opening a text portlet. This box is checked by default.

Accept combined swedish words

Two correct words who are combined will be accepted by the spell checker if this option is activated. The spell checker will never suggest combined words.

Activate "IE image toolbar"

In Internet Explorer 6 there is an image menu on the image when hovering the image. This is only valid for images above a certain size (not shown on small images). In SiteVision this menu is deactivated by default. Check this box to activate the image menu.

Only allow connections from listed website addresses

If checking this box only URL:s from one of the listed domain names (primary or secondary) are allowed.
