Create HEAD element

Click the plus sign in order to add an element in head. A new window will open, Create HEAD-element:

RSS

Here you can add RSS flows in HEAD. The browser Firefox will show the flows created on the website.

Name in list

Working name for the head element in SiteVision

RSS source

Here you select the RSS file (Local source) or type an address (external source) to the RSS source.

Title

The name displays in the list of the RSS flow.

Use care when adding custom CSS, Schema or Javascript in head. If they are added incorrect it can give consequences for the web page. There are different rules about how stylesheets and alternate stylesheets functions which should be consulted before using this functionality. The same goes for Conditional comments.

CSS source

Here you select the CSS file or add an address to a CSS source. This will add information below SiteVision's own CSS. If you add something with the same class name as something in SiteVision's CSS you are theoretically able to overwrite SiteVision's CSS.

Media

Different types of media to insert CSS for. Read more on: http://www.w3.org/TR/html4/types.html#type-media-descriptors

  • screen - used for editing text
  • print - used for prints
  • handheld - used for handheld devices
  • projection - used for projectors
  • tv - used for tv
  • aural - language synthesis
  • tty - meant to be used for streaming media using terminals, portable devices with limited display.
  • braille - used for braille
  • all - suitable for all types of media

Rel

Here you can select stylesheet or an alternate stylesheet.

Connect to responsive breapoint

By connection the element to a responsive breaking point the CSS-information will be used only when the criteria for the breaking point is fulfilled.

This setting is only avaliable if responsive web on site is activated.

Use Conditional Comment

Check this box if you would like to insert an exception or a requirement for Internet Explorer. Read more about Conditional Commentsexternal link, opens in new window

Both beginning and ending expression must be filled out in order for this to function. Otherwise SiteVision will ignore the exception or the requirement.

Always validate the page after adding conditional comments since they might cause validating faults.

Javascript

Here you select a javascript file or an address to a javascript to be added to head.

Javascript source

Here you select a Javascript file or add an address to a Javascript source.

The order of the head elements is important if you have dependencies e.g between javascript files. Currently the head element added on the start page is written first, then elements added on sub pages and so on.

Use Conditional Comments

Schema

SiteVision will automatically add schema.DC in the source code but you can add custom schemas if needed.

Here you select a file or give the address to a Schema source. For instance the schema.DC address goes to http://purl.org/DC/elements/1.0/

Rel

Give the type of schema here. You can decide if all this settings should be propagated or not.

Custom

If none of the above types are appropriate you can use Custom. You will then need to add all information your self. You might for instance have an alternate version of a web page e.g. a sound file. You can set everything related to a link tag here. You can also specify that a document is part of a larger document here.

Advanced

Here you can add blocks of code for css or java script (client script) - or completely custom rendering using a custom Velocity template.

Type

Indicates kind of function and in what way the text in the template will be interpreted.

CSS

Any text entered in the template is placed in the style elements, namely:

Java script

Any text entered in the template is placed in the script elements, namely:

Velocity

Here you do everything all by yourself, and the text in the template will be construed and evaluated / executed by Velocity. The template for the Velocity-type provides access to the Public API. The following head elements is avaliable.

Help with script is not part of the support agreement.

Run in editing mode

If advanced head element should be printed / rendered in edit mode or not.

Custom script/template

This is the template where you enter the text (css/ java script) or code (velocity).

This function requires permission to "Manage HEAD elements".
