All types of metadata fields have the tabs General, Search, Advanced, and Security. In addition to these are the different types of one or two tabs that are unique to that particular type of metadata. Read more about the unique tabs at the page Examples all metadata types.
When a metadata definition is added you have to make some settings regardless of type of metadata.
The text displayed above the field where the user adds a value. This value must be entered when you create a metadata definition. If you don´t there will be a warning:
Explains the purpose of the field description. This text will be a help to users when they fill in the metadata values.
This is where you enter a name. It can be any name if one is to use metadata internally. Avoid, however, å-ö, spaces and strange characters. If you want to print the value in the source code to provide more information on the page, click the arrow to see proposed names. Most names in the list follows the Dublin Core standard (except the Description and Keywords which is an older standard).
TIP! A name have to be specified for the value to be searchable and / or printed in the source code on the page.
Describes under which the scheme that the tag is printed. Normally, the field is left blank. May be needed for connections to external systems. Choose the right plan from the list.
Check this if the field and the value will be printed in the page's source code. The field is printed as <meta name>.
