Add metadata field

By clicking the alternative Add metadata definition you open a new window where you can choose to add a new metadata field. SiteVision provides several types of metadata. Choose the kind of metadata you want to use to the left and fill in the information to the right.

Metadata has to be published to appear online.

Editorial information

Description

The description is shown above the field when the editor chooses a value. The field is mendatory and a warning will be displayed if the field is not filled.

Extended description

Explains the purpose of the field description. This text will be a help to users when they fill in the metadata values.

Identifier

Name

This is where you enter a name. It can be any name if one is to use metadata internally. Avoid, however, å-ö, spaces and strange characters. If you want to print the value in the source code to provide more information on the page, click the arrow to see proposed names. Most names in the list follows the Dublin Core standard (except the Description and Keywords which is an older standard).

TIP! A name have to be specified for the value to be searchable and / or printed in the source code on the page.

Scheme

Describes under which the scheme that the tag is printed. Normally, the field is left blank. May be needed for connections to external systems. Choose the right plan from the list.

Show the field in the page´s source code

Check this if the field and the value will be printed in the page's source code. The field is printed as <meta name>.
