Add web user

Click the plus button to add a new web user.

On the far right, you will find the plus button to add a web user.

The Plus button is only visible if the setting "Allow login with web users..." is enabled under Website Settings -> Login Panel.

This feature requires that you have the "Manage Users" permission.

After clicking the button, a new view will open where you can add information.

Create web users

General

A web user will be created locally in Sitevision and will follow the database. A web user is a so-called simple user (the same as a SAML user) and does not need to be stored in a directory service.

Login details

  • Username - must be unique and cannot be changed afterwards.

Please note that the username is case sensitive.

Inappropriate usernames

- Email addresses are inappropriate as usernames because they contain personal information and are also considered unstable. For example, people may get married and change their last name and email address, which would change their identifier.

- Employee numbers, CNs, usernames, personal identification numbers, and other personal data are not suitable with reference to the GDPR.

  • Allow user to log in with password - Check the box if the user should be able to log in via any of Sitevision's login modules.

In order for web users to log in to the website, you must enable this under Website Settings -> Login Panel.

  • Password - Here, the user can choose a password. We recommend that you set up a password policy for web users. If you have set up a password policy, it will be displayed below the input box.
Vald lösenordspolicy visas under inloggningsrutan

If the user does not comply with the password policy, they will receive immediate feedback. In the example below, both a capital letter and a number are missing for the password to be approved.

Passwords are stored as SHA-256 hash values.

Information

Here you fill in information such as name, surname, email address, title, telephone number, mobile phone number, and possibly a description of the user.

Not listed in the directory structure

Web users are not visible graphically in the structure (as directory objects), but they can be searched for. You can then right-click on the user name and select Properties to edit the web user's details or password.
