Predefinied search - Selection
Under the Selection view, set restrictions in the form of which items to include, structure and metadata.
Search index
Use custom index
If you have Search package 1(in Cloud) or search package 2, you have an additional setting - to use your own search index or what is supplied by default. Tick the box and select the index to use in the list.
This setting requires that you have a license for Search package1 (in SiteVision Cloud) or Search package2.
Include
Here you select the items you want to include in your search. You can select pages, articles, images, files and/or structure pages. All types are ticked by default.
Paths
Here you limit the search to certain parts of the website, such as a sub-branch or a folder in the file archive. If you choose, for example, a folder with pages, the search listing module ONLY searches in this folder.
Tick this box to see a list of the parts you have selected. If none are selected, a blank list with a link Add appears at the bottom.
Click on the link to add, for example, a sub-branch that you want to make the search listing in. A new one appears where you select a page/folder/structure page:
To designate a file or image, switch to these views by clicking the arrow next to Pages at the top.
To select more folders to make your search in, select the Add link again.
To delete a structure, select it from the list and click the cross on the right.
Keep in mind that the structure restriction must match the items you include in the search listing! You will not get any hits if you have chosen to search in pages only, and then under structure, designate a folder in the image archive.
Metadata
Here you can limit the search to a specific metadata.
Tick the box and click the Add link to add a metadata restriction. A new view is displayed where you can select a condition and then select a metadata field to have a certain value.
When you click Add, a new view opens. Select a metadata field from the list. In the Value field, fill in the value to be met.
For a metadata to appear in the list, it is required that the "Index the field in the search engine" setting is ticked. This setting is located under the Advanced tab on the metadata field.
Restrict which pages to include in the search based on metadata
- All of the following conditions must be met
- At least one condition must be met
- None of the following conditions must apply
Example 1. You have set up a metadata restriction for metadata Information type and the value Quick guide as well as metadata Subject and Web value. If you specify that ALL conditions must be met, the visitor will only get search results on pages that have a Quick guide value (for Information type metadata) AND the "Web" value (for metadata Subject ).
Example 2. You have set up a metadata restriction for metadata Information type and the value Quick guide as well as metadata Subject and Web value. If you specify that AT LEAST one condition must be met, the visitor will only get search results on pages that have a Quick guidevalue (for Information type metadata) OR the Web value (for Subject metadata).
Example 3. You have set up a metadata restriction for metadata Information type and the value Quick guide. If you specify that NO conditions may be met, you will not get search results on the pages that have a Quick guide value (for Information type metadata).
