Table properties

Table type

Here you can choose from existing table types. All table types that are on the website appear in a list.

To remove a table type from a table, click on the check box to the right of the name.

Heading type

Select whether the headings in the table are in the top row or first column, or both.

By default, the heading cells are row headings.

Width

Here you can fill in a width of the table.

Use caption

Choose whether to display a caption. This is printed above the table.

Hide the table caption in display mode

Check this box if you want a table description that is not displayed on the page. Instead, it is only used by screen readers and similar tools.

Allow visitors to sort in the table

Check this box if you want visitors to be able to click on the table headers and sort the table as they wish.

Visitors can then sort themselves by clicking on the arrow in the header cell.

Responsive web

Only show in breakpoints

Here you can choose whether to display the table in different breakpoints. For example, if the table is very large and is difficult to understand in, for example, a phone mode, you can select it to appear only in desktop and tablet.

Hide in breakpoints

Here you can choose whether to hide the table in different breakpoints. For example, if the table is very large and is difficult to understand in, for example, a phone mode, you can select to hide it in the phone breakpoint. The table will be shown normally on desktops and tablets, but when it comes to phone mode, it is hidden.

Responsive web

Here you can choose from a few different ways of managing responsive tables.

  • Horizontal scroll
  • Horizontal scroll with fixed left column
  • Stacked table
  • Stacked columns

Appearance

If you have "Manage table" permissions, you can create custom tables, you do not need to use the table types. You can then make settings on this tab Appearance.

However, you cannot make any appearance adjustments if you use a table type. The following message appears:

“When a table type is in use, there are no appearance settings available.
