In the Trashcan panel, you can control whether and when items in the trashcan are automatically deleted.

Enable automatic cleanup of items in the trashcan


Tick this box to enable automatic cleanup of the trashcan.

The default setting is 60 days, but you can choose a value between 7 and 180 days. Once the specified time has elapsed, the items will be deleted automatically and can no longer be recovered.

All new websites have this value pre-filled, whilst those with an existing website will need to enable this themselves.

Please note:

  • If the Recycle Bin contains a large number of items, the initial clearing process may take a little time.
  • If the Recycle Bin has not been emptied for a long time, a large number of items may be deleted immediately when the function is activated.

This feature requires the ‘Manage site settings’ permission.
