Map - OpenStreetMap

The map module allows you to display one or more map points on a map to help your visitors navigate. By setting up subpages to the map, you can also allow the visitor to click on a map point and move on to more information.

Settings module Map - OpenStreetMap.

Settings

Map aspect ratio

Available options are 1:1, 3:2, 2:1, 3:1 and 5:1. The option you select is visualised directly on the page where you add the map module.

Zoom level

You can enter values between 1-17. The default value is 13. The lower the number you choose, the more zoomed out the map will be.

Map points

Most of the map points settings require the use of a metadata field. You can set up a new metadata field directly on a page/branch/folder or archive or under Site settings/Templates/Metadata or if you prefer to to use the metadata om templates.

Make sure to use the metadata type "Map point" and to set an identifier (under the "Advanced" tab).

Selecting a metadata is mandatory in the map module, except for the last option, to select your own map points.

Map points options:

  • Show map point from current page - Select the metadata you wish to use.
  • Show map point from different page - Select page (you can also select the house here), group page, structure object, article. Also enter the desired metadata.
  • Show map points from multiple pages - Select page (here you cannot select the house), group page, group folder, structure object, folder, article, archive. Also specify a metadata field. This option retrieves underlying nodes that have the selected metadata.
  • Select custom map points - Here you can specify your own map points. For example, if you set up Örebro, Stockholm and Oslo as three map points, these three map points will be displayed in a map.

=> Click on a map point in a map and the name of the map point will be displayed. When the settings "Show map point from another page" and "Show map points from multiple pages" are used, the name of the map point(s) will have a link (ie be clickable in the map).
