Assistant

The Assistant module uses AI to help your visitors get the right answers to their questions. The module can be displayed as a search bar or a button.

To help visitors find their way around, you can add conversation starters to questions you think they might want answers to.

Settings

Assistant

Here you choose which Assistant to use. The assistants available for selection are those that you set up under the Assistants panel .

Allow non-logged in users

If you want to allow non-logged-in users, two things are required:

  1. Set up a service user
  2. Enable captcha on the website

Appearance

Name

Here you enter a name or a sentence that will appear in the Assistant's search bar and as a title in the chat modal (the window that opens to chat further with the Assistant).

Description

Here you enter a description that will be displayed in the chat modal (the window that opens to chat further with the Assistant).

Assistant entry point

Here you can set the input to the Assistant, whether it should be a search bar or button. Whatever you choose, a chat modal will appear in the next window.

Search field

This displays a search field with the name you entered.

Button

This displays a button with a few more settings:

Button text

Here you fill in what should be written on the button.

Show text and/or icon in button

Here you make one of the following choices:

  • Text and icon
  • Icon only
  • Text only

Variant

Here you choose the button type (which you can influence in Themes)

  • Button
  • Outline button
  • Link button
  • Text link

Color

Here you choose the color (which you can influence in Themes)

  • Default color
  • Profile color
  • Primary
  • Secondary

Button size

Here you choose the size of the button

  • Small
  • Medium
  • Large

Conversation starter

Use this option if you want the call starters to be displayed on the page. The assistant will then open automatically with the selected call starter when the visitor clicks on it.

Here you can select the button type (which you can change in Themes)

  • Button
  • Ghost button
  • Link button
  • Text link

Color

Here you can select the color (which you can change in Themes)

  • Default color
  • Profile color
  • Primary color
  • Secondary color

Button size

Here you can select the size of the button

  • Small
  • Medium
  • Large

Chat modal

The chat modal is a new view that shows the chat window with title, description and conversation starters (FAQs).

The default text is FAQs to help the visitor get started and ask the questions they want answered.

Conversation starters

A conversation starter is a predefined prompt on the home page of the chat modal that users can use to start the conversation.

For example, you can enter a common question that you think the visitor might ask. It can also be a prompt "Ask about xx or yy" It is mandatory to have at least one conversation starter.

Click on the Add converstaion starter button to add another one. It is also possible to remove a call starter using the Remove button to the right of the field.

Here you fill in a placeholder. The default text is Ask your question here...

Help text under the search field

Here you can add text that appears below the search field. The default text is " Here you search with AI. Make sure the answers are correct before basing any decisions on them."

Sources

Show sources of the responses

If you check this, the source pages from which the answers come will be displayed. There is a link below the answer called "Sources". Click on the arrow before sources and the pages from which the answers come will unfold.

Feedback

If you enable feedback, the user will be able to provide feedback to the assistant. An icon will appear to the right of the search bar.

When the user clicks on it, a field pops up where you can rate it with a thumbs up/down and add a comment.

Texts

Feedback question

Here you ask a nice question regarding the feedback. The default text is "How was your experience of the conversation?"

Free text description

Here you fill in what should be written in the free text field where the visitor should fill in feedback. The default text is "Tell me more..."

Manage feedback

You can manage the feedback in two ways, either by storing it in a data source or emailing it.

Store in a data source

If you choose to store in a data source, you save the feedback in the Sitevision database. If you choose to store it in a data source, you can manage the feedback through our "Feedback on assistants" widget, which you can find in the Sitevision Marketplace.

Under Site Settings -> Features -> Data Sources, you can see how many records you have access to as well as the data sources you actually have on your site.

Email feedback

You can also choose to email the feedback to any email address.

This feature requires that you have an additional license for Assistant
