Groups
The Groups module is used on profile pages to show which groups a user is a member of. The groups are sorted by update date, which means that the groups that have activity will appear at the top.

The number of visible groups is controlled by a setting where the default value is 10. At the bottom there is a link, "Show all my groups (X)", which leads to a page where the All groups module is used to show all groups the user is a member of.
Does the sorting look strange?
Groups are sorted by the last published post in the group's activity feed. If the group has no posts in the activity feed, it will instead be sorted by the date the group was created.
Notification for new posts
If a user visits their own profile page and there are new events in the group, a notification appears on the group image to illustrate this. The notification will remain until the user has visited the group and the reading timeout has expired.
If the module is used to view another user's groups, closed groups will not be visible in the list unless the visitor is a member of the group.
